At Agave Dental in Phoenix, our dedicated staff begins with a thorough evaluation of the patient’s medical and dental history, and Dr. Hamann conducts a full exam of the mouth and area surrounding the missing tooth, including x-rays. Once the exam is complete, Dr. Hamann talks with the patient and makes recommendations for a comprehensive treatment plan. After answering questions and receiving input from the patient, the process begins as implants are surgically placed in the jawbone under local anesthesia.
The amount of healing time is different for each patient and depends on variables such as the quality and quantity of bone, as well as the type of implant placed. When Dr. Hamann determines that the patient has healed adequately, she will use the implant to support a crown, bridge, or denture—completing the process.

The American Dental Association accepts two types of dental implants: the endosteal and the subperiosteal. Most dental implants placed today are endosteal root form fixtures (similar to a man-made tooth root), though Dr. Hamann will assess your unique needs.
